MUSETTE


 

Mussette is guitarist-vocalist ,Paul Musso, flutist, Byron Hamer and cellist, Wayne Templeman All three musicians in Musette are trained in classical, jazz, pop and latin musical styles. Musette combines jazz standards, bossa novas, familiar classical pieces and light popular songs in a tasteful mix of music sure to please any listener. Musette also offers a variety of ensemble configurations for music tailored to your needs. Flute-guitar duet, cello-guitar duet, cello-flute duo, flute-cello-guitar trio and solo guitar are all possible groups to chose from. Vocals can be added to any ensemble using the guitar.


PERSONNEL BIOGRAPHIES


PAUL MUSSO-guitar

Mr. Musso is a versatile guitarist, trained in Jazz, Blues, Classical and Latin styles. He toured Europe in 1987 performing in numerous venues throughout nine countries. Paul has performed in The West Cliff Jazz festival for that past two years, leading and composing for his own quartet. Paul Musso is a senior instructor and Coordinator of Guitar Studies at the University of Colorado at Denver. He has been with U.C.D for sixteen years teaching fretboard theory, guitar ensembles, music theory, improvisation and applied guitar studies. Mr. Musso is a freelance guitarist and has performed throughout the Colorado area in many diverse musical settings including The Colorado Symphony, The Boulder Festival Orchestra, The Aspen Music Festival and The Westcliff Jazz Festival. Paul is the author of several Mel Bay jazz guitar books including"Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar/Teaching Your Guitar to Walk.," and has contributed to the publication Fingerstyle Guitar. Paul currently lives in Denver where he maintains a career playing guitar in straight-ahead jazz and solo guitar settings.

BYRON HAMER - flute and saxophone

Mr. Hamer is a multitalented and internationally traveled flutist and saxophonist. Byron played the Montreux Jazz Festival during the summers of 1976 and 1996. He has also performed throughout Europe, South America and the U.S. Byron has backed up such jazz greats as Joe Williams, Diane Schuur, George Shearing and Tony Bennett. His musical theater experience includes the musicals Beehive, Love Janis and Guys and Dolls.
Byron currently teaches woodwinds privately and maintains a studio in the Denver area.

Byron is the bandleader for the swing band Rumble Seat.

WAYNE TEMPLEMAN- cello

Wayne Templeman is a well know recitalist in all of Colorado and especially in the Denver area. He is the principal cellist of the Mercury Ensemble and was the principal cellist of the former Denver Chamber Orchestra from 1984 to 1994. He performs with the Central City Opera Company and has served as a principal cellist of the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. His solo appearances include work with the Chamber Orchestra of the West, the Darmstadt Akademie, the Fort Collins Symphony, the Casper Symphony, the Loveland Symphony and the Aurora Symphony.
