The Master of Arts degree through the Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education Division prepares professionals for community/mental health agencies, private practice, public schools, universities, and business and industry.
All programs consist of 51 semester hours (with the exception of the Marriage and Family Therapy program, which is 63 hours). All programs include core courses and electives, a 150 clock-hour practicum, and a 600 clock-hour internship. The master's degree is a two-year program. There are five program areas:
The community/agency, school counseling, and marriage and family therapy programs are accredited by CACREP, the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs.
