In January 1994, an ad hoc group of graduate students and recent alumni, led by Dr. Brent Wilson, formed the School of Education's Internet Task Force (ITF). Our members were responsible for maintaining the home pages of the School of Education and the ILT program and often acted as paid consultants to support SOE faculty and staff in their use of the Net. The ITF agenda emphasized:

• developing innovative uses of online technology and integrating the Net into existing curriculum;
  

• researching issues relating to the Internet, including how to promote adoption and how to use the Net to support learning communities and constructivist learning environments.

As of June 30, 1998, the group was disbanded. The responsibility for upgrading and maintaining the existing SOE home pages will eventually be delegated to the staff of the individual academic programs. This transition is expected to take place during the summer and fall of 1998.
