Mission Statement:
Environmental Sciences supports interdisciplinary environmental education and research at
graduate and undergraduate levels. The Environmental Sciences discipline is comprised of the
Master of Science in Environmental Sciences (MSES) degree program and the undergraduate
minor in Environmental Sciences. The MSES Program trains environmental scientists and
promotes interaction between faculty members of different departments and colleges of the
University of Colorado at Denver, campuses of the University of Colorado system, and the public
in the area of environmental education. The undergraduate minor broadens the student's
knowledge of environmental issues.
The Center for Environmental Sciences (CES) promotes interdisciplinary research in the
environmental sciences by faculty and students, and promotes information exchange between the
university and the public and private sectors. The majority of the CES research is conducted in
the CES Analytical Laboratory.
