
2000 ANNUAL AWMA DINNER & STUDENT POSTER SESSION
AND
CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES OPEN HOUSE
The Rocky Mountain States Section and the University of Colorado at Denver Student Chapter
of the AIR AND WASTE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (AWMA) proudly sponsor the
2000 Annual AWMA Dinner and Student Poster Session. This is the 6th Annual dinner meeting
and poster session organized by the UCD Student Chapter. The meeting provides an opportunity
for environmental professionals and students to meet and exchange ideas.
Students from various scientific disciplines and academic institutions are highly encouraged to
present posters on the projects they are currently pursuing. This is a judged competition with cash
prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. By March 23, 2000, please email the title of the poster, the name
of the presenter and your email address and/or phone number to bcgraham@ouray.cudenver.edu

WHEN: Thursday Evening, March 30th, CES Open House: 3:30 - 5:00pm; Poster Session: 5:00
p.m.
WHERE: All activities occur on the Auraria Campus. The Open House is in the North
Classroom building and the Poster Session and Dinner are in the Turnhalle located on the main
floor of the Tivoli Student Union at the Auraria Campus. The North Classroom building is on the
west side of Speer Boulevard between Lawrence and Larimer Streets and the Tivoli is located on
Ninth Street, about a block south of the Auraria Parkway. Parking will be easiest at the Parking
& Transportation Centre at Seventh and Walnut Streets. A map of campus and parking

COST: Dinner will be provided at the modest cost of $10 for students and $15 for others.

The following will be held in the Tivoli Student Union, in the Turnhalle.
5:00 - 6:00 pm Student Poster Session.
Student participation is encouraged from students in a number of disciplines and from different institutions through out the area.
6:00 - 6:30 pm Dinner
Choice of Hot Box Dinners, either Quattro Formaggio or Italian Lasagna, both include salad, rolls, desert and choice of ice tea or fruit punch.
6:30 - 7:15 pm Ron Heavner (MSES, 1996) EPA Region 8. Status of the 1997 Ozone and PM2.5 Standards
7:15 - 7:20 pm Award Prizes
7:20 - 7:50 pm Jane Grogan (MSES, 1991) and Mark Bell (MSES, 1993). State of
Environmental Business. A discussion of where we've been, where we are, and where we're
going in the environmental business. Funding, types of projects, and employment projections.
