AIR & WASTE MANAGEMENT
ASSOCIATION
The University of Colorado at Denver Student Chapter
Poster Information and Instructions
The CU-Denver Air and Waste Management Association (AWMA) Student Chapter is an environmental organization for all University of Colorado at Denver students. AWMA provides a forum for students, faculty, and environmental professionals to exchange ideas and information about the environment. The AWMA Student Chapter affords students interested in careers in the environmental sciences and engineering the opportunity to enhance their educational experience and to make valuable professional contacts. Student members are encouraged to get involved as student members with the International Air & Waste Management Association and the Rocky Mountain States Section of the AWMA.
Membership in the AWMA Student Chapter and AWMA International has several benefits. A brief summary of last semester's events will give prospective members an idea of what AWMA does as a student organization at UCD. Meetings/Social Hours: UCD-AWMA has regularly scheduled meetings and social hours at Old Chicago's in Lower Downtown, at the Boiler Room, or in the North Classroom Building. Environmental tours: National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, CO; Rocky Mountain Arsenal; Rocky Flats; North American Air Defense Command, Cheyenne Mountain, CO. Dinner/Poster Session: Each spring the AWMA Student Chapter, with the Rocky Mountain States Section, hosts a student poster session and dinner. Air & Waste Management Association International Meeting: Each year faculty and students participate in the AWMA International Meeting.
