DENVER--The entry deadline for the 10th Annual Statewide Anne Frank Competition has been slated for March 2, 2000.
This year's competition, sponsored by the University of Colorado at Denver's College of Arts & Media, is designed to teach youngsters about how freedom ensures that the American dream remains attainable.
Colorado students in public, private or home schools in grades 3-12 are eligible to compete. Each project should use the Anne Frank experience as a starting point or inspiration for the creative project; and the entry must fit in with the Competition's theme--the "triumphant spirit."
The competition is presented in cooperation with the Denver Public Schools, and is endorsed by Gov. Bill Owens, Denver Mayor Wellington Webb and all Denver metro-area school superintendents.
For the third year, Denver Bronco Mark Schlereth will serve as the official media spokesperson for the Competition and he is extending a special invitation to all Colorado students in grades 3-12 to join him on the "Anne Frank Team."
Competition categories include art, writing, dance/movement, photography and computer-generated projects.
Schlereth's involvement represents the ongoing affiliation of the Denver Broncos as the major corporate sponsor of this educational project.
