Gregory Walker Receives Charles Ives Fellowship

Gregory Walker, associate professor of music in the College of Arts & Media, recently received the Charles Ives Fellowship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters for two of his musical compositions: micro*phone for Amplified Orchestra and Sonata for Violin and Piano. Charles Ives was the most significant American composer at the turn of century. The Academy comprises all the leading artists in the world. The endowment prize is open to an international field. The awards ceremony takes place in New York on May 17, 2000. Walker plans to invest the $15,000 award toward his next interdisciplinary concert
