English Professor Brad Mudge took three of his students to London for two weeks in March to examine rare holdings in some of the world's most exclusive libraries and museums. Mudge's students--Jon Buck, Jocelyn Gardner and Joel Richardson--have been active collaborators in their professor's scholarly research. Although all three are still undergraduates, they were permitted into domain normally restricted to professional scholars. "Not only did they work in the British Library and British Museum, they also examined materials at the Tate Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Courtauld. Even more unusual was their visit to the Queenıs private collection in Windsor Castle. Buck, Gardner and Richardson applied for and received a small grant from the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP), which was matched by the chancellor, the CLAS dean and the vice chancellor for Research and Creative Activities.
