DENVER - The University of Colorado at Denver is sponsoring the Chancellor's New Urban University Lectureship Award from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25 in room #470 of the CU-Denver Building, on 14th Street between Lawrence and Larimer streets.
The Lectureship Award recognizes the scholarly efforts of CU-Denver faculty and provides a forum for the discussion of their scholarship.
"It honors the finest scholars and artists on our campus, and is awarded to those who best exemplify the stated mission and principles of the New Urban University initiative: to be user friendly; to integrate teaching, research and service; and to connect with the community," said Chancellor Georgia Lesh-Laurie.
This year's recipients of the Lectureship Award are Larry Cunningham of the College of Business and Administration, and Lorre Hoffman of CU-Denver's College of Arts & Media. They each will offer a lecture on the topic, "Protecting and Enhancing the Public's Environment in the 21st Century."
"Exploring this topic from the different perspectives of the business and the art worlds should provide a stimulating discussion," Lesh-Laurie said.
The lecture is free and open to the CU-Denver community as well as the general public.
