WWW Authoring Standards
- The official University of Colorado at Denver navigational
banner should appear at the top of all departmental,
organizational and instructional pages. Material
presented through CU-Online, the Library, and personal
pages are excluded.
- All departments, organizations, instructors should clearly
display a hyper-linked point of contact for their area of
interest. An example would be the 'send comments to...'.
- It is recommended that large departmental sites utilize an email
alias for web correspondence. This will reduce page
maintenance in the event of employee turn-over.
- All pages should contain a 'meaningful' title tag in the HTML
coding. This tag is utilized by
many search engines.
- Information should reside in ONE location only. Anyone wishing
to duplicate information is advised to hyper-link to
the existing data. Information provided at a campus level
is the 'official' source.
- Approved University of Colorado at Denver logos and graphics are
housed in a central library. It is suggested that departments/
organizations/instructors hyperlink to this library. This
can be found directly at:
http://www.cudenver.edu/public/pubrel/logos/logos.html
- All content must conform to the campus WWW Policies
which can be found at:

NOTE:
Be mindful of your target audience.
It is important to remember that your audience may use
a wide-range of WWW browsers and/or platforms to view your
pages. Each of these browsers and/or platforms may
present your page with a differing look. Also, do not
assume that everyone operates at the same transmission
speed that you do.
