Educational
Background
David Forlani holds the Bachelor of Science degree with a major
in finance from the University of Florida, the MBA degree with a
focus on strategic decision making from Tulane University, and the
Ph.D. degree from the University of Minnesota.
Teaching
Interests
Building on his experiences running a number of small businesses,
professor Forlani enjoys teaching courses that focus on the planning
and implementation of marketing programs, especially as they relate
to new-business creation decisions. During his tenure here at the
University of Colorado he has taught at both the Graduate and Undergraduate
levels in numerous programs including courses in: Concept Development,
Entrepreneurship, Marketing Management, Marketing Research and Marketing
Strategy.
Research
Interests
David's interest in the new-business creation process has strongly
influenced both his instructional preferences and academic research
program. His research activities focus on understanding the impact
of individual difference and contextual factors on the risk-taking
behaviors of managers making new-business creation decisions. His
articles have been published in the: International Marketing Review,
Journal of Behavioral Decision Making, Journal of Business Venturing,
Journal of Product Innovation Management, and Psychology & Marketing,
among others.
