"Linguistic Legacies" The 36th Annual Meeting of the Linguistic Association of the Southwest was held in Denver, CO on September 21-23, 2007. The Linguistic Association of the Southwest (LASSO) is a regional linguistics association in the United States whose purpose is the advancement of the scientific study of language, particularly in the geographical region covering the states of Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. While LASSO is primarily interested in languages of these southwestern states, it draws its membership from any region in the world. See the LASSO website for more information on the organization.
