Fractal Computation with MPI

Dennis gave an excellent presentation discussing programming with MPI and showing us how MPI can be used to performing fractal computations. For information about MPI, click here to see the web page recommended during the presentation. Dennis' enthusiasm for fractals became apparent as he began to discuss using parallel computing for calculating fractals. Several views of the Mandelbrot Set where shown. Various real life examples of fractals such as the intestines, blood system, and coast lines were brought into discussion. As a result of Dennis' exciting presentation, this student in the near future hopes to study fractals and the computing of these intriguing functions.
