Subject: RE:October conference of OPTEK

Dear Colleagues

We have looked at your proposal on a presentation in the October 12, 1996 in
the OPTEK'96 conference in Helsinki, Finland and are very interested in
including you in our program to hear what you have done in the field of
distance learning and technology. Esko Johnson will be abroad this week, so
he asked me to contact you, because time is getting short. He should be back
on Monday Sept. 2nd.

There are a few open questions:

1. The conference will be on a Saturday, and your Mountain time compared to
ours is 9 hours. Is it really possible for some of you to come and do a
videocoference on a Saturday morning at 5.45 - 6.30 or 6 a.m., because that
will actually be the very latest time before we finnish the conference at
about 4.15 p.m. our time? And we need a short session after the
videoconference. We would truly appreciate it, but are you willing to
volunteer?

2. Finnish Association of Learning Technology is a new non-profit
association, with very little funds available. So the highest cost for this
videoconference, including the technology of your end would be about 1 000
dollars.

If this arrangement would work on these conditions, we would be very glad
to include you in our program. Please let us know your decision as soon as
possible and also a suggestion for a title of your presentation.

Best Regards
