Hi and Welcome! At this website you can find information about the B.S. Degree in Psychology offered at UCD, my interests, experience, research. I have also included some links to professional organizations to which I belong and some others which may be of interest to those interested in biopsychology, brain, behavior and immune system interactions, and neuroscience. I hope you find this useful, and thanks again for visiting!

MY RESEARCH INTERESTS AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Here's some information about me and what I do. My area of research is psychoneuroimmunology, which is the study of the links between the brain and the immune system.

Research projects currently underway or in development in my laboratory include:

1.     Effects of opioids on pulmonary immune function and infection in rats

2.     Impact of maternal stress on infant immunological and behavioral development in human infants

3.     Physiological mechanisms of Pavlovian conditioning of immune function in rats

4.     Effects of stress on prenatal maternal immune status and birth outcome in humans

All of my research involves undergraduate students. If you are interested in this type of research and would like to be considered for a position working on one of the above projects, please contact me! Previous experience in laboratory research is not necessary, but a strong academic record, an interest in biomedical research, and strong organizational skills are.
