Trained volunteers and staff provide crisis intervention, information, education, and referrals to community resources. Spanish-speaking domestic violence victims can also receive information, education, and referrals by calling the crisis line. They are asked to leave their name and a safe telephone number, and a Spanish-speaking advocate returns their call as soon as possible. 303.318.9989.
Shelter Program
Emergency Housing
SafeHouse provides safe and secure emergency housing for women and children victimized by domestic violence. Individuals and families are provided with food, clothing, personal care products, medical treatment, and childcare. The length of stay in shelter is thirty days and extensions are granted to individuals and families as needed.
Women's Program
Women receive an intake upon arrival and are assigned to an advocate who provides them with weekly individual advocacy. Advocates assist women in developing comprehensive safety plans and provide emotional support as individuals develop their options for their future. Women develop goals while in shelter and advocates work as resource brokers by assisting women in finding needed resources and providing them with appropriate referrals. Support groups are offered on-site at shelter three times a week which play a vital role in helping to educate women about the impact of domestic violence.
