Professional Commitments
I am very involved in professional organizations at UCDHSC, in the University of Colorado system, and within the historical profession.
In 2006-2007, I will serve as chair of the UCD Faculty Assembly's Women's Issues Committee, chair of the CU-System Faculty Council Women's Committee, and secretary of the system GLBTI Committee. My work on these committees reflects my investment in creating a diverse and welcoming environment throughout the CU System, and I am an active participant in University discussions about how to better serve faculty, students, and staff of diverse backgrounds and diverse needs.
From Fall 2006 until Fall of 2008, I will be the President of the Western Conference on British Studies, the western affiliate of the North American Conference on British Studies, the main organization for scholars of British history in the U.S. I regularly attend the WCBS and the NACBS annual conferences, and frequently particpate in the American Historical Association annual conference, and the Berkshire Conference on the History of Women.
