Technical Assistance

If you have problems dialing into the CARL System, help is available. Between 8:00a.m. and 5:00p.m. weekdays, call (303) 758-3030 and ask for "Dial-up Assistance." When you call, please be prepared to provide information on your terminal type and communications software, and to describe the exact nature of the problem.

Password Protected Databases

Some of the databases on CARL are password protected. These include UnCover, Business Index, ERIC, Expanded Academic Index and the Encyclopedia. These databases are available to users with a valid library card from a subscribing library. The Encyclopedia is available to users with a valid library card from one of the primary CARL libraries (Univ. of Colo., Univ. of Northern Colo., School of Mines, Denver Public Library, Univ. of Colo. Health Sciences Center, Auraria Library, Univ. of Denver, Univ. of Denver Law School, or Univ. of Colo. Law School).

When these databases are selected, a prompt for library ID number will appear. Enter the number from your library card exactly as it appears on the card. The system will then ask for a last name. Users who are registered at an appropriate library and who are in good standing will be allowed access.

INTERNET Access

Internet is a "network of networks" which effectively links academic, government, and other institutions across the country and the world. If you have access to Internet, you may use the network for access to CARL.
