SERVING THE FACULTY, STAFF, AND STUDENTS OF


The Auraria Library is the central information resource for students and faculty of all three institutions. Providing up-to-date, comprehensive collections and a wide variety of learning resources, the Library was visited over 1,000,000 times last year by its students and faculty. The Auraria Library houses over 560,000 volumes of books, microforms and bound periodicals, and over 1,700 current periodical and newspaper subscriptions.

To manage its resources the Library employs the CARL System developed by the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries. The CARL System contains dozens of databases including library catalogs for Auraria as well as other libraries across the state and throughout the nation, current article indexes, and information databases. or use the procedures for telephone DIAL-UP AND TELNET ACCESS.

AURARIA LIBRARY RESEARCH AIDS

Because the Auraria Library considers its educational role to be an important part of its mission, we publish the AURARIA LIBRARY HANDBOOK as an introduction to the use of its collections and services. The handbook, a compilation of ideas from library faculty to guide you through the research process, is just one element in an extensive program of library instruction offered by Auraria Library personnel. The Library also provides dozens of printed handouts to assist with both general and specialized research. The handouts are in the form of:
